Allison Janney had a bad experience with a costar, but she won’t reveal who.
On the Tuesday, Oct. 21 episode of Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live! to promote the Netflix series The Diplomat, Janney, 65, admitted there is an actor from her past who she would “refuse to work with again,” per Cohen’s line of questioning.
Both Janney and her costar Keri Russell, 49, answered affirmatively with signs that said “agree” when asked by Cohen. Told that they’d receive “extra points if you name names,” Janney noted that her former costar in question is deceased.
“Well, mine is no longer with us, so I really can’t — I really couldn’t work with them again, even if I wanted to,” she said. When Russell and Cohen encouraged her to name the actor, she added, “No, I’m not saying it. I will not be lulled into a false sense of safety being in this small little club.”
“What was your mom’s thing you know, when we talk s— about people?” Russell asked. “Oh, my mom would say ‘In the car, windows up, out of the driveway,’ ” Janney responded.

Cohen also asked Janney and Russell if there are any projects the pair wish they could delete from their IMDb pages, but both women declined to answer. “No, thank you,” Janney said.Â
Janney and Russell later disagreed when it came to whether they have “offered a costar a breath mint” before filming a scene with a kiss. “I don’t get — I mean, you know. I don’t have a lot of kisses,” Janney said.
