Mark Hunter, vocalist of Ohioan groove metal band Chimaira, has revealed the group’s plans to open the vaults on their latter years with an upcoming compilation titled “Creepers Vol 1“. That collection will compile b-sides and rarities from the 2011 to 2014 era that originally closed out the Chimaira‘s career.

The material that came about during that run followed a period of upheaval, with the bulk of the group’s classic era lineup departing, leaving vocalist Mark Hunter to rebuild the band with a new roster. Speaking of this collection, which will arrive digitally this Halloween (October 31st), Hunter offered:

“We’ve been working to bring you streaming versions of some of our rarest B-sides.

Back in the day the A-side was the hit single and the B-side was the “extra content” – experimental songs, non-album tracks, or covers. Usually, they sucked. Sometimes you’d get a “Breadfan” or “God Save the Queen”, but let’s not kid ourselves – you’re not getting that here. These are the songs that didn’t make our albums for a reason.

But if surviving the cutting room floor is a badge of honor, these tracks wear it proudly. Some fans love them. Others think we were right to bury them. Most didn’t know they existed.

Enjoy Creepers Vol 1 this Halloween.

Vol 1 focuses on 2011-2014 – the Age of Hell through Crown of Phantoms era.

We hope to release Vol 2 soon.”

Eight songs will appear on this first volume, here’s what you can expect:

01 – “Year Of The Snake” (Dubba Jonny Mix)
02 – “Your Days Are Numbered“
03 – “Scum Of The Earth“
04 – “Clockwork” (Hunter Mix)
05 – “New Apocalypse“
06 – “The Dehumanizing Process” (2013 Slow And Low Mix)
07 – “Outshined” (Soundgarden cover)
08 – “Wild Thing” (The Troggs cover)

Pre-saves for the set have been launched via Spotify. In other news, the band have also just launched a new merch capsule dubbed ‘At The Movies’. It pays tribute to various film franchises and studios past, including Cannon Films, ‘The Shining‘, ‘Hellraiser‘ and more. A gallery for that line can be seen below, with it set to launch midnight, October 27th via chimaira.com.

The group are next set to hit the stage for their latest ‘Chimaira Christmas‘ concert on December 20th at The Agora in Cleveland, OH. 200 Stab Wounds and Nunslaughter will open that show.
