Dion Dawkins and A’Shawn Robinson got into a heated altercation at the end of the Buffalo Bills’ 40-9 blowout win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

Dawkins and Robinson had to be separated by several teammates and staff members before Dawkins was finally walked away after things erupted at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Dawkins, according to ESPN’s Kimberley Martin, was trying to shake hands postgame when things blew up. Video shows the two exchanging words before Robinson rips off his helmet and gets face-to-face with Dawkins before the shoving begins.

It’s unclear if either Dawkins or Robinson will face any discipline. While it appeared to be chaotic, the incident was settled without much issue.

Though Dawkins or Robinson haven’t revealed what was actually said between them, Dawkins’ “40-9” comments give a pretty good idea. The Panthers had their three-game win streak snapped by the Bills on Sunday, and they failed to put up much of a fight. James Cook ran for 216 yards and two touchdowns for Buffalo, which led the entire way to get to 5-2 on the season. Quarterback Josh Allen had a pair of rushing touchdowns, too. Dawkins has spent his entire career with the Bills, who selected him with the No. 63 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Temple.

The Panthers now sit at 4-4 with the loss, which brings them back to .500 on the season after briefly holding a winning record for the first time since 2021. The loss was their first at home this fall, too. Robinson had three total tackles and half of a sack for Carolina. The 30-year-old has 28 total tackles so far this season, his second in Carolina.
