George Springer
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners 4-3 in Game 7 of the ALCS on Monday, Oct. 20. This eliminated the Mariners from the playoffs and advanced the Blue Jays to the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This is Springer’s second World Series appearance in his 12-year career.
The Connecticut native played a crucial role in the team’s final meeting with the Mariners, as he scored the winning runs. In the bottom of the seventh inning, the club was down 3-1. After a pitching change, the 36-year-old sent right-hand reliever Eduard Bazardo’s sinker yard for three runs.

In the ALCS, the former Husky slashed an average of .232, with an on-base percentage of .298 and an on-base-plus-slugger percentage of .893.
In the first two clashes of the 2025 World Series, the two squads split one win apiece. On Friday, the Blue Jays fell to the Dodgers 5-1, after blowing them out 11-4 in Game 1.
In Game 2, Springer knocked one of three (33.3%) at-bats with one strikeout. In the bottom of the third inning, pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto hit the veteran and walked him.
On the next at-bat, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. smashed a four-seam fastball into left field, sending Springer to third base. With one strikeout, catcher Alejandro Kirk popped up a sacrifice flyout, which drove in their only run.
Currently in the World Series, Springer registers an average of .257, with an on-base percentage of .334 and an on-base-plus-slugger percentage of .924.
The two teams battled out Game 3 in Los Angeles, CA last night, with Game 4 scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m. Fans can stream the matchup on Fox.

Stephon Castle:
Within the first three contests of the San Antonio Spurs’ 2025-2026 stretch, Castle returned right where he left off.
In the team’s opening night on Wednesday, the reigning Rookie of the Year notched a 22-point game with seven rebounds and six assists. The guard thrived from the paint, banking seven of nine (78%) two-pointers and draining one of three (33.3%) attempts from deep.
In the Spurs’ most recent 118-107 victory versus the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, the 20-year-old ended the night with 13 points, six boards and three assists. The 2024 Big East Freshman of the Year buried five of eight (%) shots from within the arc and missed a pair of three-pointers. In both matches, Castle saw 30 minutes.
With a three-game winning streak on the line, the Spurs hosted the Toronto Raptors yesterday. On Thursday, the squad will welcome the Miami Heat with tipoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Network Southwest.
Donovan Clingan:
In Clingan’s second year with the Portland Trail Blazers, the 7-foot-2 center has already made his presence known. Within three clashes, the former Husky has accumulated eight rebounds per game.
In the franchise’s 114-107 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, the Connecticut native nearly secured a double-double. The 21-year-old contributed nine points, 10 boards and three assists. Clingan cashed in two of three (66.7%) field goals and one of three (33.3%) tries from downtown.
The Trail Blazers faced the Los Angeles Lakers yesterday and will travel to take on the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. on BlazerVision, Jazz+, KJZZ-TV and KUNP 16.

Liam McNeeley:
So far, the Charlotte Hornets have played three contests and rotated McNeeley onto the court once. On Sunday versus the Washington Wizards, the rookie saw six minutes and struggled.
The former Husky botched two shots from beyond the arc and did not attempt from within the paint. The 20-year-old subbed out with one rebound and two assists.
The Hornets flew south to battle the Heat today at 7:30 p.m. on FanDuel Sports Network Southeast.
Jordan Hawkins:
Even with Hawkins’ help, the New Orleans Pelicans start the 2025-2026 season 0-2. Off the bench, the 23-year-old has averaged 7.5 points with 2.5 boards and an assist.
In the Pelicans’ 120-116 overtime loss to the Spurs on Friday, the Maryland native scored seven points. Hawkins splashed two of three (66.7%) shots from the field and one of four (25%) tries from deep.
The franchise hosted the Boston Celtics yesterday and will travel on Wednesday to battle the Denver Nuggets. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. on Gulf Coast Sports and KTVD-TV.
Cam Spencer:
Spencer is already seeing more court time with the Memphis Grizzlies than last year, as he averages slightly over 14 minutes per meeting.
In the team’s 128-103 win over the Indiana Pacers, Spencer knocked down one of four (25%) two-pointers and two of four (50%) shots downtown. By the end of the match, the second-year player totaled eight points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Grizzlies took the road for yesterday’s contest with the San Francisco Golden State Warriors. The franchise will then travel to face the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday at 10 p.m. Fans can watch the game on Arizona’s Family 3TV or FanDuel Network Southeast.
Andre Jackson Jr.:
Similar to McNeeley, Jackson Jr. has hardly taken the court. Within two meetings, the 23-year-old has played 3.5 minutes and has yet to record a point for the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks host the New York Knicks tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC and Peacock.
Tristen Newton:
The Minnesota Timberwolves waived Newton on Oct. 18 and he is yet to sign with a new team.
