Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers is taking her talents from the hardwood to the silver screen.

Deadline’s Justin Kroll reported Wednesday the WNBA Rookie of the Year will have a starring role in Jess & Pearl, a forthcoming project by Apple Original Films.

“Set in the world of women’s basketball, the film follows two phenoms who forge an extraordinary bond as teammates until fame, competition and the ruthless business of college athletics threaten to turn their friendship into an epic rivalry,” Kroll said of the film’s plot.

Bueckers exceeded the sizable hype she carried into the pros after a legendary career at UConn. In 36 games, she averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 steals.

The 2025 No. 1 overall pick set a WNBA record when she went off for 44 points in an Aug. 20 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks.

Although Dallas finished with the league’s worst record (10-34), the franchise found a long-term cornerstone in Bueckers.

The 24-year-old is set to make her Unrivaled debut this winter. She initially signed an NIL deal with the three-on-three league that included and ownership stake. Now, she’ll get to take part.

Unrivaled will get its 2026 season underway on Jan. 5 in Miami.
