Joey Logano punished as NASCAR confirm SEVEN drivers hit with same penalty at Dover

Another exciting weekend of NASCAR Cup Series action is in the books following Sunday’s race at Dover Motor Speedway.

Joe Gibbs Racing star Denny Hamlin was the winner of the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400, fending off teammate Chase Briscoe in double overtime to take his fourth victory of the season.

As always, Cup Series officials were kept busy during the action, with multiple delays due to the weather, and several drivers having received penalties during the race, including Team Penske star Joey Logano.

On lap 326 of the scheduled 400, Logano was guilty of ‘speeding on pit road’ and handed a pass-through penalty as a result.

In fact, Logano was one of seven drivers found guilty of speeding whilst on pit road during Sunday’s race, with Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Erik Jones, Carson Hocevar, JJ Yeley, Josh Berry, and Christopher Bell also exceeding the limit at various points.

Remarkably, Yeley did so three times in the No. 44, with the 48-year-old also penalized for ‘pitting before pit road is open’ on lap 262.

Zane Smith was also found to be in violation of that offence on lap 400 as overtime beckoned, while the only other infraction on the report was ‘removing equipment from pit area’ for Hocevar and the No. 77 team.
