Backup Boston Celtics forward Josh Minott has been finding his groove with his new ball club, carving out a recurrent role with the team that signed him away from the Minnesota Timberwolves this offseason. The Boca Raton, Florida native has even managed to parlay his early season success with the Celtics into a starting role with the team in recent days he may be able to hang onto if things keep going as well as they have been.
For a player looking to stick in the NBA, this is exactly the sort of dynamic one searches to create, and for teams like Boston looking for affordable talent to augment their next era of contention, Minott has fit the bill to a tee so far. And the Memphis alum recently shared what it is that has helped him adjust to life playing for the Celtics.

“We were all stars in high school, you know what I mean? And I’d say most of us were stars in college,” said Minott.

“So it’s like, just coming here, you’ve got to understand that not everybody’s going to be a star,” he added. “So it’s just like, I’ve got no problem with that, you know what I mean?”
“I’ll go make y’all look good, rebound, defend, try and make the other team’s good players not look as good. And I’ll just continue to do what y’all do. I mean, I’m just blessed to have a great group of guys around me. And y’all see it, man. They’re good — they’re good at basketball.”
