Veteran talent agent Michael Greene has launched Michael Greene Artists Agency, a boutique talent agency with offices in Malibu and New York. It currently has four other agents working alongside Greene representing 42 clients, with the plan to keep the client list under 100.
The move comes following a rather abrupt departure for Greene from his previous agency, Greene Talent (fka Michael Greene & Associates), which he founded. For the past several years, the company had been equal partnership among Greene, Azeem Chiba, Kiernan McCaffrey and Ethan Salter.
Greene and his former partners have retained attorneys for possible litigation over the exit — said to have come amid buyout negotiations — as accounts of the circumstances surrounding the departure from each side vary widely. Chiba, McCaffrey and Salter have remained partnered together at Greene Talent, which is in the process of changing its name.
Joining the Michael Greene Artists Agency, which has a focus on emerging talent, are agents Pietra Ingenito, Marisa Patella, Elizabeth “Q” Quintanilla and Jackie Lewis. Of them, Ingenito and Quintanilla are former Greene Talent assistants, with the latter promoted to agent there.
Greene’s representation career spans 4½ decades. He first founded Michael Greene Management in New York City and went on to launch Greene & Associates Talent Agency in Hollywood in the early 1990s as a boutique firm.
Some of the clients Greene has represented over the years include the late Chadwick Boseman, Ed Asner, Ken Howard, Meat Loaf and Graham Greene, along with Tessa Thompson, Omari Hardwick, Mo McRae, Olivia Rodrigo, Jenna Fischer, Dyan Cannon, Sally Kirkland, Joe Bologna & Renée Taylor, Frances Fisher, Sean Young, Alicia Boe, Amanda Plummer, Chandra Wilson, Aisha Hinds, Michael Harney, Sam Jaeger, Aidan Gillen, Sarah Rafferty, Rockmond Dunbar, Roc Dutton, Rosanna Arquette, David Arquette, Zoe Bleu, Tamara Taylor, Jamie Ray Newman and PJ Byrne.
