Ryan Preece
Indy Fantasy Outlook – Ryan Preece and the #60 team are running well and performing at a high-level, week in and week out and at Indy, look for the good times to continue. At Pocono a few weeks back which is the best comp track, Preece finished 8th and had the 14th best Total Speed Ranking.
Indy Track History – At Indy, it’s likely wise to just view Ryan Preece as a driver without a track record because it isn’t good. Last year, Preece was literally the caution that ended the race when he spun in overtime which led to his 26th. That said, Preece was in 9th at the start of the final overtime and over the final 30 laps he ran mid-teens or better. That said overall, Preece had a 21.9 average and ranked 33rd in terms of Total Speed Rankings. Back in 2020 when the series most recently raced here, Preece completed 14 laps and then crashed on pit road in a multi-car wreck that marked the end of his race, leading to a 40th. In 2019, Preece finished 16th.

Austin Cindric
Indy Fantasy Outlook – Austin Cindric may have a solid showing in him at Indy. Cindric didn’t have a bad race last year en route to a 7th and he was also solid at Pocono just a few weeks ago where he finished 10th and had the 10th best Total Speed Ranking. Penske cars never lack when it comes to horse power so make sure he’s on your radar. Heading into the weekend, I would view Cindric as a teens driver who might compete for a top ten.
Indy Track History – Last year at Indy, Austin Cindric started in the back, got a speeding penalty on lap 40 but then finished 7th when the checkered flag waved. Over the final Stage, Cindric used some pit strategy but he also did run well to close out. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Cindric ranked 28th with his speed over the segments being 29th, 30th, 23rd and then 13th.

Ross Chastain
Indy Fantasy Outlook – At Indy, I would view Ross Chastain as a top ten contender but not get overly bullish. The #1 team is sort of in a summer slump and Pocono was kind of ugly for him. At “The Tricky Triangle”, Chastain finished 26th, had a 16.5 average running position and ranked 22nd in terms of Total Speed Rankings.
Indy Track History – Last year at Indy, Ross Chastain didn’t have an afternoon to brag about. in the race, Chastain finished 15th, had a 20.9 average running position, earned the 25th best Driver Rating and ranked 34th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. Chastain also led 8 laps, but that was via pit strategy and not performance. I’ll also note that with 4 laps to go until the scheduled distance, he was in 22nd. Way back in 2020 in the #77, Chastain finished 17th.
