Arsenal defender William Saliba is working his way back to fitness after picking up an injury which saw him miss the win over Brighton on Wednesday

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that key defender William Saliba came through a training session on Friday to prove his fitness. The centre-back missed the Carabao Cup win over Brighton in midweek due to injury.

Saliba picked up a knock to his ankle during last Sunday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. The Frenchman was forced to come off at half-time against Oliver Glasner’s side.
