Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is very demonstrative when he makes a big play on the floor. He has always had some type of celebration whenever he makes a big play on the floor–mostly the DX “suck it” chop that he will bring out in big moments.

Embiid celebrated a bit too hard in the eyes of the NBA in Friday’s 109-108 loss to the Boston Celtics. The league announced that they will fine the big fella $50,000 for what they called a “lewd gesture” made in the first quarter of the contest.

Embiid then took to Twitter to send a message to the NBA regarding his fine. He pointed out that the officials make a similar gesture when they make blocking calls on the floor.

Embiid then added another tweet to punctuate his message to the league. He posted a GIF of an official making that gesture to prove his point.

The Sixers will begin a 3-game road trip on Sunday when they take on the Brooklyn Nets with Embiid sidelined. He is out due to left knee injury management and will likely return on Tuesday when the Sixers take on the Chicago Bulls.
