TikToker @timmc1269, also known as Timmy Mc, shared a video that left viewers surprised and fascinated. It features a friendly coyote named Weave who seems to have become part of his family. The wild visitor clearly trusts Tim, even taking treats straight from his hand!
In the video, Tim welcomes Weave onto the porch, and surprisingly, both the family cat and his Pit Bull, Duck, seem totally unbothered by their unusual guest. Weave accepts treats, tolerates a few pets, lounges in her own bed, and even snaps at Duck (and Tim). There’s a lot happening in this video, and people can’t get enough!
Tim shared in the caption that Weave is back, which leads us to believe this happens frequently. The dog and cat also both seemed totally cool with Weave hanging out. We did some digging and it turns out that Tim and Weave have been friends since she was a pup!
He shared more about their story in another TikTok. It’s almost 10 minutes long, but it’s pretty interesting to hear how the two of them adopted each other!
Commenters had a lot to say about the friendly coyote, and had a lot of questions. One commenter asked, “Just curious; has Weave ever hurt you if so does she show remorse?” Timmy replied, “Only once and by accident. If I say “ouch” you can tell she understands.”

Why to Say No to a Pet Coyote
Weave isn’t a pet, even though it’s clear she’s comfortable around the family and even has her own bed there. She disappears for weeks at a time and stops by for visits on her own terms.
In most states, keeping a coyote as a pet is illegal, and permits to have one are rarely granted. PetsCare explains that these permits are typically only given to wildlife sanctuaries, educational facilities, and licensed exhibitors.
They also share, “Coyotes are wild animals with deeply ingrained instincts that make them challenging to keep as pets. Unlike domestic dogs, which have evolved alongside humans for thousands of years, coyotes retain their wild nature even when raised in captivity.”
“These animals can’t be fully domesticated and may exhibit unpredictable behavior, especially during breeding seasons or when stressed.”
Exotic Pet Wonderland explains that coyotes can’t be potty trained and have a a predominantly raw meat-based diet. “While coyotes are omnivores, their diet primarily consists of meat, which should make up around 85-90% of their overall intake. Out of this percentage, approximately 10% can consist of raw bones, 5% should be liver, and another 5% should comprise other forms of offal, such as kidney, spleen, or pancreas. The remaining portion of their diet can include vegetables, fruits, and eggs.”
It’s clear that Weave has a strong bond with Timmy and his family, but she’s also a wild animal and should be treated as one.
