Sophie Cunningham Already Has Plans For 2026 WNBA Offseason
While the star is currently enjoying her offseason with multiple small projects, she is also recovering from her injury. She is expected to be fit for the 2026 season, and fans can look forward to seeing her back in action. However, interestingly, the player had already announced her 2026 offseason plans on her podcast video.
As she was discussing ‘marathon’ on her podcast, the player expressed a desire to run one in the upcoming offseason. Not only that, she already has a specific marathon in her mind – the Hawaii Marathon in December 2026. The player confirmed that she will be in great shape after the season and plans to run the 26.2 Mile marathon.
“I have an awesome friend out here. Her name is Amy. And she does the Hawaii (Marathon). There’s a Honolulu marathon every year around December. And I was like, Hawaii is my happy place. So I was like, ‘Heck yeah.’ But my leg is not ready for it this year. So, I’m actually doing a full marathon next year, and I’m trying to get Lindsay, my sister, to do it, too,” Cunningham said.
Thinking about a marathon while recovering from an MCL injury is wild, and that’s what she called herself – mentally ill on the podcast. Fans will be hoping to see her on the basketball floor as early as possible, and a marathon would be a bonus for them.
