Nick Morabito, OF, Mets: Morabito has had no problem hitting in the Arizona Fall League, but until Sunday, he’d been held homerless. Morabito crushed a 442-foot home run (109.4 mph exit velocity) that measured as the fourth-longest homer of the AFL season. Morabito is hitting .340/.435/.472 with 12 steals in 14 tries in the AFL, after hitting .273/.348/.385 for Double-A Binghamton with 49 steals in 60 tries during the regular season.
Jared Serna, SS/OF, Marlins: A Yankees’ signee out of Mexico in 2019, Serna has stood out as a versatile utilityman, but there remain questions about whether he will hit enough to handle that job. Serna hit .224/.310/.279 largely in Triple-A this year, which only added to those concerns.
But back home in Mexico for winter ball, Serna becomes a weapon. After hitting .310/.365/.478 last winter with Jalisco, Serna is hitting .385/.452/.677 this winter while playing center field regularly, a position he hasn’t handled at all in the U.S.
Serna was at his best on Sunday, as he went 3-for-5 with three extra-base hits. Batting leadoff, Serna homered in the third off Touki Toussaint, doubled in two runs off Toussaint in the fourth and then tripled in another run in the sixth. He had one chance to hit for the cycle in the eighth, but while he did reach, it came on a throwing error by the shortstop.
Starlyn Caba, SS, Marlins: During the 2025 regular season, Starlyn Caba had only 13 multi-hit games. The Arizona Fall League is proving much more friendly.
Caba went 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base and two walks on Sunday. It was his seventh multi-hit game in just 14 games played. Even when he struggled to hit for average or power in Low-A, Caba was a pesky hitter with as many walks (34) as strikeouts (34). That has also carried over to the AFL, as he has 12 walks compared to 13 strikeouts.
Caba is hitting .327/.448/.473 for Mesa in the AFL. He had two homers after hitting just one during the regular season.
Jaison Chourio, OF, Guardians: Chourio went 2-for-3 on Saturday, and he then followed it up with even a better day on Sunday. Playing for Zulia in the Venezuelan Winter League, Chourio went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and a stolen base.
Chourio raised his slash line to .250/.353/.350. As he did during the regular season, Chourio is doing a very good job of controlling the strike zone. He has a 14.5% walk rate and a 16.7% strikeout rate. But he is not hitting for any power. Only two of his 10 hits so far are extra-base hits with one double and one home run.
