Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra is adopting a new design language, as per an image of the upcoming smartphone’s screen protector. In doing so, Samsung appears to be leaving behind the last vestiges of the Note series’ design language.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to adopt iPhone-like rounded corners

The famous Samsung tipster, Ice Universe, has now posted an image of the compatible screen protectors for the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. Critically, the screen protector for the S26 Ultra shows noticeably rounded corners, giving the apex model in the S26 lineup a softer overall profile, which appears in sync with Apple’s design language for its iPhones.

In doing so, Samsung appears to be deliberately moving away from the boxy shape of its now-defunct Note series, which was all about sharp corners and a crisp overall profile. The S26 Ultra now only has to leave behind the S-Pen for the soul of the Note series to truly depart the S26 lineup.

Meanwhile, as we reported over the weekend, Samsung is gearing up for its next ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event on February 25, 2026, where the smartphone giant will unveil its upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup. The theme of the event, unsurprisingly, centers on AI.

Interestingly, this is the first time in around three years that Samsung is again heading to San Francisco for its ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event, with the last one featuring the launch of the Galaxy S23 series back in 2023.

Samsung typically holds the debut event for its S-series in late January or early February. As such, the upcoming event’s late February calendar entry is somewhat aberrant.

Some reports in recent days have indicated that Samsung is bringing back its dual chip strategy, planning to use the highly capable Exynos 2600 chip in around 50 percent of the Galaxy S26 smartphones, especially in regions such as South Korea and the EU, while the US, Japan, and China will get S26 smartphones that are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.

A sketchy rumor claims Samsung might bring variable aperture tech to the S26 Ultra’s camera setup.

The base Galaxy S26 might sport a new 50MP main camera sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to sport a new  1/1.1-inch 200MP Sony sensor, with an F1.4 aperture.
