The Smithville Bogey Boys hosted their Fall Scramble on Saturday, November 1, at the Smithville Golf Course, bringing together 36 golfers of all ages for a day of competition, camaraderie, and community spirit.
The event featured strong play across the board and several memorable highlights. One of the standout moments came from Joshua Chapman, who holed out from 98 yards for an eagle on a par four — a shot that drew cheers and admiration from players and spectators alike.
When the final scores were tallied, the team of Buck Luna, Adan Ramirez, Ricky T., and Josh Chapman claimed first place honors. Finishing in second were Michael Atnip, Ricky Brown, Jimmy Spainhour, and Shannon Cantrell, followed by the third-place team of Robb Ford, Rusty Waggoner, James Walters, and Tony Cross.
Additional contest winners included Robb Ford and Derrick Poole for Closest to the Pin, and Roger Sargent, who captured the Long Drive award.
The Smithville Bogey Boys expressed appreciation to the sponsors and supporters who helped make the event possible, including Smithville Donut, Food Lion, Caddyshack, Brick House Auto Detailing, The Smithville Review, WJLE, Shannon Cantrell, Jimmy Lewis, and the Smithville Golf Course.
“It was a great day of golf, laughter, and community,” said an event organizer. “We’re already looking forward to doing it again next year.”
