PC Players or Bots? Battlefield 6 PS5 Players Frustrated By Crossplay Situation 1

If you’re playing Battlefield 6 on PS5, you’ve probably had to make a choice: do you play cross-platform with PC players, or do you opt out, only to be put in matches containing bots?

That’s the dilemma some players are currently feeling frustrated by on the PS5 Reddit.

User youlikebaileys makes a case about this, saying you’re kind of damned if you do, damned if you don’t when it comes to enabling crossplay.

“Now that Battlefield 6 is out, it’s pretty much impossible to find a game that isn’t filled with bots if you turn crossplay off (with PC) on PS5, at least here on the EU servers,” they say.

Their argument is that having crossplay enabled means you’re competing with PC players, who are almost certainly using the more precise control method of mouse and keyboard.

On the flip side, disabling the feature leads to either empty matches or ones filled with bots, who don’t really put up much of a fight.

The reason you might see this while playing PS5-only is that, by default, crossplay is enabled — meaning most players won’t be going into the settings to turn the option off.

“I get that Battlefield 6 is meant to be a more casual shooter, but that doesn’t make it fun to go up against people with a big hardware and peripheral advantage,” youlikebaileys says. “In my opinion they should make the default option console-only crossplay (PS5 and Xbox together). And if someone is using mouse and keyboard on console or just wants to play with their PC friends, they should automatically be put into the full crossplay pool with PC players.”

The post has generated a fair amount of discussion, with some suggesting the aim assist for controllers is enough to balance things out. Others agree that a console-only crossplay option should be included, so the player base is still large without including mouse-and-keyboard players.

Of course, there are those that simply don’t care, and are happy to play the game as is.
