Chrishell Stause is over the Selling Sunset drama and will not return to the Netflix reality series after its ninth season.
Although the streamer has not renewed the show for another season, if another is filmed, Stause will not be a part of it.
“I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past,” Stause told Bustle about quitting the show. “I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down.”
Stause said that “Jesus Christ himself” couldn’t persuade her to return for another season of Selling Sunset, and neither could creator Adam DiVello, who she claims has been calling and messaging “100 times a day.”
The reality television personality says that she has “gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially,” adding, “I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”
Stause was one of the original cast members of the Netflix reality series when it debuted in 2019. The show follows the real estate brokerage Oppenheim Group and its agents as they navigate their personal and professional lives.
In Season 9, Stause had a difficult time navigating her relationships with her co-stars, as there was animosity between them. She sparred with Nicole Young, who, early on in the season, hit below the belt by mentioning her deceased parents in an effort to shift accountability. Stause also had a fallout with her best friend Emma Hernan after her new boyfriend made deplorable comments about the LGBTQ+ community.
