Pat McAfee wasn’t going to let it stand.
So, the college football analyst asked his “College GameDay” colleague Nick Saban why didn’t you “sit your ass up” when Saban’s wife Miss Terry presented a carrot cake on his 74th birthday on Oct. 31?
“How come you wanted sit the hell up?” McAfee joked with Saban. “Why wouldn’t you sit the hell up? There’s a celebration going on and you’re snoozing. You got your America’s Best to your right, two blankets on top of you. You’re living the good life. Miss Terry’s bringing this cake. She made that 10 hours ago for you and you won’t sit your ass up.”
Saban deadpanned, “You think she made that cake?
“Miss Terry found out about catering a long time ago, but she is a hell of a cook when she cooks.”
Saban and McAfee will be live from Lubbock, Texas ahead of the game between No. 8 Texas Tech and undefeated seventh-ranked BYU.
“College GameDay” heads to Lubbock for the second time in the show’s history. The previous visit was in 2008, when the No. 6 Red Raiders beat No. 1 Texas 39-33 behind Michael Crabtree’s last-second touchdown. The Cougars will make their fourth appearance on “College GameDay” and are in search of their first win when the program has originated from a BYU game.
Host Rece Davis is at the helm for his 11th season, joined at the desk by “GameDay” analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. College football insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the “GameDay” cast for the 2025 college football season.
