SALT LAKE CITY – A water line break in Draper prompted an emergency water shutdown and road closure, the city said Sunday morning.

A water line break near Traverse Ridge Rd. and Minila Dr. caused a water shutdown for a portion of the city, the city said in a post on Facebook.

The city provided a map of the area impacted, but noted, “This map is approximate. Residents outside the highlighted area may also be affected.”

At the time of publication, crews were reportedly evaluating the line break and did not have an estimated timeframe for water to return.

“Those in the affected and surrounding areas should plan to be without water for the whole day,” Draper City said.

The intersection at Traverse Ridge Rd. and Manila Dr. was partially closed, and officers with the Draper Police Department were reportedly on site to help direct traffic.

“Please be sure to use caution and watch for detours,” the city said. “Avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible.”
