Tonight (Nov. 10) will mark John Cena’s final appearance in his hometown* of Boston as a WWE Superstar.
He’s got one more Raw and at least two more matches before he retires as a pro wrestler/sports entertainer at the Dec. 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., but Cena wants us to know that this week’s Raw is special on its own.
He started hyping it yesterday…
… and with rumors swirling about Cena will be doing at TD Garden and on Netflix in about six hours (we’ll fill you in on those in a sec, in case you haven’t already seen them), he turned up the volume on that hype…
So what is it that the Never Seen 17 says we DEFINITELY want to see every moment of? Possible SPOILERS follow:
According to a Bodyslam.net report, Cena will challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental title tonight in Boston. That match-up has been central to fantasy booking of Cena’s retirement run for a while now, both because Dirty Dom is one of WWE’s most important young stars, and because the IC strap is the one prize that’s eluded Cena in his legendary career. It was rumored to be happening at Survivor Series later this month, but a scene on Raw last week made it seem like Dom may once again be dealing with deadbeat dad Rey at the late November premium live event.
Join us for Raw coverage tonight and we can all find out together if this report is correct. But you can start placing your bets now in the comments below, along with your latest theories on how Cena’s farewell will play out over the next 4-6 weeks.
* He’s from West Newbury, Massachusetts, but Boston is the closest major metropolitan area.
