LITTLE ROCK, AR.- Little Rock freshman Megan Stewart has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman Swimmer of the Week following her standout performance at Arkansas over the weekend.

Stewart continued her impressive debut season by capturing first place in the 400 IM with a school-record time of 4:21.26, breaking the previous program mark while also delivering one of the top times in the MVC this season. She added a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:51.58), helping the Trojans post several of their best in-season swims of the year.

“Megan continues her stellar freshman season. We didn’t even discuss breaking the school record in the 400 IM this week — our main focus was pushing through her toughest training yet. Considering how hard she worked throughout the week, I’m doubly impressed with how well she performed on Saturday. It’ll be really exciting to see what she’s capable of in just over 10 days at our midseason championship meet,” said head coach Nathan Townsend.

“I’m honored to receive MVC Freshman of the Week again. I’m really thankful for my teammates and coaches—every day they push me, support me, and make this such a positive environment to grow in. I’ve learned so much already, and I’m enjoying every chance to race and improve. I’m excited to continue building together and see what we can accomplish this season,” said Stewart.

This marks Stewart’s second MVC weekly honor of the year as she continues to lead a talented Trojan freshman class into midseason competition. Little Rock will next compete at the House of Champions Invitational in Indianapolis from November 20–22.
