Absecon police and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the scene at the border between Pleasantville and Absecon at about 7:38 p.m.

The driver remained at the scene at California Avenue and New Road, and is cooperating with the investigation. 

No names have been released.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call 609-641-0667, ext. 214, directing information to traffic investigator Patrolman Joseph Akeret.

Traffic was interrupted for about five hours as a result of the crash.
