Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) and the Nevada Health Authority (NVHA) are pleased to announce their collaborative efforts have resulted in an extension of CTH’S contractual agreement with United Medical Resources (UMR), the state’s health insurance provider.
After months of negotiations, an extension has been formalized, which guarantees State of Nevada employees will continue to be able to choose CTH for their healthcare needs.
“We want to thank the Governor’s Office and Nevada Health Authority for supporting us during these negotiations,” said Michelle Joy, President and CEO of Carson Tahoe Health. “This extension recognizes how essential it is that CTH continues to provide care to the many state employees, and their families, who live in the Quad Counties and rely on us for their medical needs.”
With 20 locations in northern Nevada, it was imperative an agreement be reached for state employees that live in the area. Carson Tahoe Health has been recognized with several awards of clinical excellence from national organizations, as well as a top place to work in healthcare, both in the state and nation.
“I am proud of the hard work by the team at the Nevada Health Authority in collaborating with staff at Carson Tahoe Health and UMR to support this win for state employees,” stated Governor Joe Lombardo. “Improving access to health care is a top priority for my administration, and it is essential we work together to ensure state employees and their families continue to have access to their local care continuum.”
As a result of the agreement, State of Nevada employees will remain in-network with all Carson Tahoe Health services. The agreement will extend through June 30, 2027.
