The 2025 SEC Media Days have once again delivered headlines and a glimpse into the upcoming college football season. Among the most anticipated announcements was the release of the preseason All-SEC media teams.
The selection process involves media members voting at SEC Media Days, and ballots are cast for a projected order of finish within the conference and the three All-SEC teams. The teams include offensive, defensive and special teams units, and with returning stars and plenty of breakout candidates, the conversations are fierce for these honors.
The most attention-grabbing name on this year’s list was, unsurprisingly, Texas quarterback Arch Manning. Despite only starting two games in his college career, Manning was selected to the preseason Third-Team All-SEC. Despite limited game film, oddsmakers also have Manning listed as a top contender for the Heisman Trophy as well as Texas as a favorite to lift the national championship trophy come January.
While Manning commended the headlines all week long, the Georgia Bulldogs quietly stole the show, leading all SEC programs with 13 players named to the All-SEC teams, with 10 of them earning first-team honors.Â
Georgia’s dominance was evident on the defensive side of the ball, where the Bulldogs tied for the most first-team selections with four standouts: defensive lineman Christen Miller, linebacker CJ Allen and defensive backs KJ Bolden and Daylen Everette. This unit is expected to be among the most formidable in the country as Kirby Smart looks to continue producing NFL-ready talent.Â
On offense, tight end Oscar Delp earned second-team honors with his veteran experience and strong red-zone capabilities. Nate Frazier was named to the third team after a strong freshman year and offensive lineman Earnest Greene III was named to the third team as he looks to protect new quarterback Gunner Stockton this season.Â
Perhaps the most impressive showing came from Georgia’s special teams unit as they swept all six first-team specialist spots. Punter Brett Thorson, kicker Peyton Woodring, long snapper Beau Garder and returner Zachariah Branch all received honors.Â
