Auroras captured by a viewer in Kearney, Missouri on November 11.
(Leteria D.)
If you stepped outside Tuesday night, you may have caught a bucket list-worthy show as auroras lit up skies across the country. Behind the phenomena was a powerful solar storm making the northern lights visible far beyond their usual range, with pinks, greens and purples seen even in the Deep South. There could still be a chance to see them Wednesday night, so keep your eyes on the sky.
The rare sight allowed people from all corners to share. Not just in the sense of wonder, but also to share their photos!
We gathered some of the best snapshots sent in by our viewers in several states. If we missed yours, we’d love to see it. Send us your favorites to help complete our “Auroras Across America” gallery.
