Banchero joins other Seattle athletes, including Marshawn Lynch and Marcus Peters, who became Seawolves investors earlier this year.

SEATTLE — O’Dea alum and NBA All-Star Paolo Banchero has joined the ownership group of the Seattle Seawolves.

The Seawolves announced Banchero’s investment as part of his expanding sports portfolio, which includes a stake in AC Milan.

“Adding Paolo to the Seawolves family is incredibly exciting,” said Seawolves majority owner Chris Prentice. “His roots in Seattle, his commitment to excellence, and his passion for uplifting the community align perfectly with the values of our club.”

“As someone who grew up in Seattle, investing in the Seawolves is a chance to support my hometown and help grow a sport that’s gaining real momentum in the U.S.,” Banchero said.

Banchero joins other Seattle athletes, including Marshawn Lynch and Marcus Peters, who became Seawolves investors earlier this year.

Banchero, drafted first overall by the Orlando Magic in 2022, was named the 2023 KIA Rookie of the Year and selected to the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. He also represented the USA Men’s National Team at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

He won a state championship as a sophomore at O’Dea in Seattle, and played one year at Duke before going pro.

The Seawolves have won two Major League Rugby championships, two Western Conference titles, and have made more playoff appearances than any other team in league history. The team was also named the Seattle Times Best Sports Team in the Pacific Northwest in 2024 and 2025.
