Even though this is only the seventh time the league has named an All-MLB team, Ohtani has been on the list eight times. He has made it every season since 2019, including as both a DH and starting pitcher in 2022 and 2023.

It stands to reason that Ohtani will return to being a two-time All-MLB player next season when he will be pitching full-time. He only threw 47 innings this season, looking as strong as ever with a 2.87 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 47 innings.

Ohtani made the All-MLB team this year for his prodigious offensive output. The Dodgers superstar hit a robust .282/.392/.622 with a career-high 55 homers in 158 games.

Elsewhere on the list, Judge was a first-team selection for the fourth time. The three-time AL MVP was once again the best offensive player in baseball. He led the league in all three triple-slash categories (.331/.457/.688), weighted on-base average (.463) and FanGraphs‘ wins above replacement (10.1).

Judge’s main competition in the AL MVP race, Cal Raleigh, became the first Seattle Mariners player to be an All-MLB first-team selection along with teammate Julio Rodríguez.

Raleigh received All-MLB honors after a historic 2025 that saw him become the seventh player in history to hit at least 60 homers in a season. He also set an MLB record with 49 homers as a catcher (he hit 11 in 38 games as a DH).

The Mariners superstar hit .247/.359/.589 overall in 159 games. His 8.6 fWAR as a catcher was nearly four wins more than any other player at the position.

On the pitching side, NL Cy Young favorite Paul Skenes has now made the first team in each of his first two seasons. The Pittsburgh Pirates ace led MLB with a 1.97 ERA in 32 starts.

Skenes and Tarik Skubal join Ohtani and Jacob deGrom (2019-20) as the only starting pitchers named to the All-MLB first team in consecutive seasons.
