Police said the vehicle he was driving had heavy rollover damage from striking the utility pole.

Liberty Utilities said nearly 1,000 customers living in the area temporarily lost power Thursday night due to the damaged utility pole. The issue was later resolved.

The Pelham Police Department said the driver, identified as a 19-year-old who lived in Pelham, was pronounced dead at the scene. As of 5 a.m. Friday, police did not publicly identify the driver.

Investigators believe speed was a contributing factor, but the investigation was still ongoing Friday morning.

Most recent data from the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety showed there has been 116 deadly crashes in New Hampshire in 2025. During the same period in 2024, there were 120 deadly crashes reported in NH.

That 2025 total was last updated on Nov. 10, so it did not include Thursday night’s deadly crash in Pelham.
