OU fans will have to wait another day to know exactly what is up with a couple of its defensive playmakers.

But it doesn’t look good for R Mason Thomas. The OU star defensive end was downgraded to ‘doubtful’ with the release of Friday’s availability report.

Defensive tackle Jayden Jackson remains ‘questionable,’ with no change since Thursday. OU is at Alabama at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC.

It’s not a shock with Thomas, after injuring himself during his 71-yard scoop-and-score return against Tennessee two weeks ago.

Initially thought of as a hamstring injury, it has been a quad issue for Thomas. He had been questionable the whole week.

The surprise came with Jackson. That surprise came because heading into the bye week last week? There was nothing wrong with Jackson. He played 39 snaps in Knoxville and nothing appeared to be an issue.

However, the talented OU tackle showed up as questionable Wednesday and has been ever since.

The news also continues to not be good with cornerback Gentry Williams. Someone who came into the week healthy and even spoke to the media Monday is now doubtful. That ‘doubtful’ status change came Thursday night and nothing changed Friday.

There will be one more availability report, 90 minutes before kickoff Saturday afternoon.

The best news? No longer on the availability report is starting MIKE linebacker Kobie McKinzie, who injured his groin against Ole Miss. McKinzie suited up but did not play against Tennessee. Listed as probable Thursday, no longer on the report Friday.

The same can be said for wide receiver Keontez Lewis. Probable to begin the week, now completely off the report Friday.

Here is the full update, including Kendel Dolby once again being out after not initially being listed all week.
