In the men’s event at the Team Trials, Team Shuster beat Team Casper 7-6 in a thrilling game two to force a third and deciding match on Sunday (16 November).
It keeps alive skip John Shuster‘s dream of competing at a sixth Winter Olympics, having famously led the US to their first curling gold at Pyeongchang 2018, as well as winning bronze at Turin 2006.
“It was exciting curling,” said the 43-year-old. “There were some incredible shots in there.
“That’s what makes our sport very special, and I think we’ll be in the Olympic programme for an extremely long time because that’s good TV.”
