The Trail Blazers have had a solid .500 start in a loaded Western Conference.

DALLAS — Watch the Dallas Mavericks vs. Portland Trail Blazers at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, on KFAA. Here’s a breakdown on how to tune in on KFAA — and guarantee you get the clearest signal possible of the broadcast.

The Dallas Mavericks (3-10) are looking for a bounce-back win against the Portland Trail Blazers (6-6) Sunday night.

The Mavs are on a three-game losing streak after Friday night’s loss to the Clippers during the NBA Cup Group Stage. The Blazers similarly fell to a Western Conference opponent in the battle for the NBA Cup, losing 140-116 against the Houston Rockets.

However, the Blazers have had a surprisingly strong start to the season, and their record doesn’t tell the full story. In a stacked Western Conference, Portland has pulled off wins over the Warriors, Lakers, Nuggets and even the Thunder.

The Trail Blazers have done all of this while dealing with significant injuries. Damian Lillard, the prodigal son of Portland, is back on the Blazers’ roster, but he is out for the season. Matisse Thybulle, a key role player for Portland, will also miss significant time with a torn UCL.

With Anthony Davis still out for the Mavericks, Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II will be expected to step up on the defensive end. Portland’s Donovan Clingan currently ranks third in the NBA in offensive rebounding, snagging 4.3 second-chance boards per game.

Dallas will also have to contend with the Blazers’ bench unit, led by sixth man Jerami Grant — the team’s third leading scorer.

By far the brightest star for Portland this season has been Israeli forward Deni Avdija, who jumped from averaging nearly 17 points per game last season to nearly 26 points this season. His scoring hasn’t just been due to a higher shot volume, either; it’s been because of his efficiency. Avdija is shooting a career-best 38.3% from deep this season and 55.8% from close range. He’s also been solid at the charity stripe, shooting a career-high 85.4% on free throws.

Thankfully for the Mavs, Portland’s primary distributor, Jrue Holiday, is listed as day-to-day, meaning getting the rock in Avidja’s hands might not be so easy.
