ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The 8th annual News10NBC Toys for Tots Holiday Drive kicks off on Monday, aiming to ensure that every child has a toy to open during the holiday season.
It comes after another record year in 2024. The community raised 102,930 toys last year, up from 88,000 compared to the previous year. New this year, the Macedon and Rochester campaigns have merged, meaning the drive now includes eight counties.
Organizers are looking for new, unwrapped toys for newborns up to age 16. People can donate toys through Dec. 14 at drop-off sites across the region. You can see a list of drop-off sites here or donate online here.
Toys for Tots began in 1947. The United States Marine Corps Reserve manages the drive and distributes the toys to families. Watch News10NBC at noon for the live launch of Toys for Tots and more details about which toys organizers need the most.
