NEW ORLEANS, La. –

The Oklahoma City Thunder visit New Orleans on Monday night for a matchup with the 2-11 Pelicans, the last-place team in the NBA’s Western Conference so far at this point in the season.

The Thunder and Gilgeous-Alexander are looking for their sixth consecutive win and to improve to a league-best 14-1 record.

Tip-off is at 7 p.m. inside the Smoothie King Center. SGA is looking for his 87th straight game scoring 20+ points.

OKC has already beaten the Pelicans once this season, 137-106 in the last meeting on Nov. 2. SGA scored 30 points while Zion Williamson, listed as Day-to-Day for Monday’s matchup, scored 20 to lead the way for New Orleans.

The Thunder are big favorites (-17.5) and it could be another early exit for SGA, who has sat out eight fourth quarters in 14 games this season. Still, he’s averaging 32.6 PPG, that is third-best in the league behind Antetokounmpo and Doncic.

On Saturday, the Pelicans fired head coach Willie Green after the poor start to the season. Assistant James Borrego is serving as the interim coach. In his first game at the position, they lost to the Golden State Warriors 124-106. Tonight is the second half of a back-to-back home stand for the Pels.
