The Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce says Topgolf has submitted a new application as the company pushes forward with developing a Liberty Lake location.

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Topgolf has submitted a pre-development application with the City of Liberty Lake, pushing forward with its proposal to bring an indoor golfing venue to the Inland Northwest.

According to the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, ARCO/Murray National Holdings, Inc., along with ARCO/Murray National Construction Co., the design-building contractor known for constructing Topgolf venues, has submitted a permit application to begin developing a long-awaited Liberty Lake location.

The proposed location for Topgolf would be in the area of East Country Vista Drive and Kramer Parkway. With the nearest locations being more than 200 miles away in both Renton and Boise, a Topgolf in the Inland Northwest would fill a hole in the franchise’s map.

Back in August 2024, the Liberty Lake City Council approved a lighting ordinance amendment, which cleared the way for Topgolf development in the city.

The planned facility is a 35,000-square-foot model that will utilize a portion of the property while allowing for several adjacent commercial sites to be developed as part of a multi-phase, campus-style site plan.

To put that the size of the facility into perspective, the Consign Furniture building sitting next door the proposed site is about 60,000 square feet. Topgolf would be just over half that size.

The Chamber’s project overview also says Topgolf sees Liberty Lake as a good spot to build, since it’s right between Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. Consign Furniture General Manager Matt Kane couldn’t agree more and said he’s “excited about it.”

“Honestly, Liberty Lake is kind of a destination when you have between Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, so everyone has to travel out here,” said Kane. “If we have something like that, that is another big staple bringing a lot of people to the area. I think it would drive a lot more traffic.”

The company says the $25 million facility would create more than 200 jobs in the region and would see an estimated 250,000 visitors per year.

While Consign Furniture consistently gets customers, Kane says their store traffic doesn’t compare to their sister stores.

“They normally have a lot more traffic than us just because they’re in the center of their cities or towns,” said Kane. “That would change it a lot, I think.”

The proposed facility would feature 70 climate-controlled bays so visitors could use it all year round.

As of Monday night, there is no word yet on when construction could begin.Â
