Mercy Springfield Communities is building a pediatric outpatient facility in partnership with Children’s Mercy.
Construction is slated to start by the end of this year at Mercy’s southeast Springfield campus, which comprises an orthopedic hospital, rehab facility and newly opened emergency department. The two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility is targeted for completion in December 2026, according to a news release.
“This is not just about health care – it’s about creating a future where kids have more access to the care they need, closer to home,” said Amy Fallon, president of regional operations for Children’s Mercy, in the release. “By joining forces with Mercy Springfield Communities, we are ensuring that families throughout southwest Missouri can receive enhanced, expert pediatric care in a facility designed specifically for children.”
The new pediatric facility would house Mercy’s pediatric primary care and Children’s Mercy pediatric specialists.
Mercy Springfield Communities’ pediatric agreement with Kansas City-based Children’s Mercy became effective on Nov. 1, according to past reporting.
