SEASIDE — Seaside City Councilor David Posalski, who represents Ward 4 is resigning from council effective Dec. 20. Posalski is moving outside of city limits and is therefore ineligible to serve on council. The city council announced his resignation in a press release.
Posalski, who also owns Tsunami Sandwich Co., was first elected to represent Ward 4 in 2020 and was re-elected in 2024.
“I’m sorry to be leaving the council; I love the work that we’ve done through the years,” said Posalski to The Astorian. “We’ve gone through a ton of change and growth, and I think the city’s operating extremely well currently.”
Posalski said since he still owns business in Seaside, he will continue to be a familiar face. He plans on attending city council meetings and will probably find himself on “a committee or two” moving forward.
Posalski said he would provide additional statements on his resignation at the city’s first council meeting in December.
The Seaside City Council is seeking applicants who have been a Ward 4 resident for at least 12 months to fill the upcoming vacancy. Applicants must obtain 20 signatures from registered Ward 4 voters and submit an official application by Dec. 31. The selected applicant will serve through the end of 2026, after which time the remaining two years of the four-year term will be filled in the November 2026 general election.
