Who were the four most popular Mets this past season?
Maybe Juan Soto is in the mix, though the Citi Field faithful are still getting to know the $765 million superstar. Ditto with Nolan McLean, who can become a fan favorite quickly. The bubbly but still developing Francisco Alvarez has a case.
From here, though, the quartet probably would comprise, in some order, Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Edwin Díaz and Brandon Nimmo.
All have been in Queens for at least several seasons. All have reached excellent personal heights, Nimmo the sole non-All-Star but a persistent snub. All have built up goodwill, including contributing on the trek to Game 6 of the NLCS in 2024. All are generally willing and available to talk with the media, which brings their personalities to fans. All are visible and helpful in the community, which matters.
