Jenna Lyons is quitting The Real Housewives of New York City after two seasons of the show.

Lyons took to social media to announce she would not be returning to the Bravo series ahead of a cast shakeup.

“The rumors are true,” Lyons shared in an Instagram post. “I was grateful to be asked to join season 16 of RHONY ‘as a friend of’- knowing my personal life was not really available to be filmed, we agreed that made sense And after thinking it through I have made the difficult decision not return to the show.”

She continued, “I would be the oldest and only openly gay woman on the show and feel like this is an opportunity for a new dynamic to emerge.”

Lyons said she was grateful for executive producer Andy Cohen “for the opportunity and support,” and also thanked the fans “who have said hi on the street, asked for a photo, supported me here on Instagram.”

“THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!- it’s so incredibly meaningful,” she added. “I will be watching and bitching from the sidelines with love and outfit judgement [sic].”

Lyons joined RHONY in Season 14 as part of the reboot of the show, which also included Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield. She returned in Season 15, which also saw the addition of Racquel Chevremont to the cast.

In her Instagram post, Lyons tagged all her co-stars except for Brynn Whitfield, with whom the cast had a fallout during the latter part of Season 15.

RHONY last aired in February 2025, and Season 16 had been put on pause. Andy Cohen hinted at BravoCon that the cast for the new season had been locked and an announcement was expected shortly.
