NBC 7 spoke with a woman who said she was sitting in the traffic for four hours Saturday morning. Hannah Brown said she landed at Los Angeles International Airport shortly after midnight, then headed to Oceanside to go to an Airbnb. She was only 10 minutes from her destination when the freeway traffic came to a stop.
“Four hours with no movement. There’s been no communication, nothing available online and we’ve just been hearing people getting out of their cars, trying to walk up and see what the situation is,” Brown said on the phone.
According to Avalos, no officers were hurt. It is unclear if the suspect was confirmed to be hurt or why this pursuit started. According to Gerber, there is no estimate for when the freeway would reopen.
