PM: Low-pensioners to receive new €250 support earlier than planned

Low-pensioners will receive a new permanent €250 support earlier than planned, with payments starting Monday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced in his weekly Sunday-morning post.

He said this is the first of several income increases, noting that from January people will see higher earnings through lower taxes and the annual pension rise. “This is just the beginning of the increases people will see in their incomes,” the prime minister said.

Mitsotakis added that these measures are included in the 2026 budget, now before Parliament, which he described as focused on national priorities and growth.

He said the budget aims to “strengthen the income of millions of citizens,” projecting 2.4% growth, further drops in inflation and unemployment, and continued debt reduction.
