The Regional School Unit 13 student who was struck by a school bus Friday afternoon in Rockland has died, according to officials.The Rockland Police Department said the pedestrian crash happened on Broadway at the intersection of Eliza Steele Drive at about 2:20 p.m.The student was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and then flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland, according to police.On Saturday afternoon, Rockland Police Chief Tim Carroll confirmed in a statement to Maine’s Total Coverage, “Tragically the child has succumbed to his injuries. We cannot provide any further information at this time.”The crash remains under investigation.
