A golf course in south Marion County was just sold for nearly $15 million, less than one month after another local golf course was sold for $7.5 million.

The Links at Spruce Creek South was purchased on November 13 by Spruce Creek South Operations LLC for $14,913,311.63, according to a deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts.

State corporate records show that Spruce Creek South Operations, LLC, is registered to Trenam Law, one of the largest full-service law firms in the state. The former owner of the property is Spruce Creek Golf, LLC, a company registered to Kenneth Kirkpatrick and James Day.

The property is comprised of at least 15 parcels, including dozens of acres of the golf course itself and its facilities.

According to county records, only holes two through seven on the golf course are located in Marion County, while the rest of the holes are located in Sumter County.

The transaction is at least the second large-scale sale of a golf course in Marion County this year. Last month, the Country Club of Ocala was one of three properties acquired by Heritage Golf Group. Marion County property records show that the golf course was sold for $7.5 million.
