Houston, TX-based brutal death metal/hardcore cross over outfit Corpse Pile recently donated over $3,000 dollars to their hometown Houston Food bank. The donation comes from the band’s recent merchandise sales.

In a recent social media post the band shared:

FYL stands for Feed Your Locals.

In the face of federal funding cuts left and right to programs that help the less fortunate, we’ve decided to donate $3,000 from our merch sales from our hometown show to the Houston Food Bank.

When the government refuses to help, it’s up to all of us to step and make sure one another is cared for.

Please make no mistake, this donation is not solely from us but from every person who has bought merch, a record, a ticket, or supported us in anyway. Without you this isn’t possible. This is for our scene, this is for our community, this is for our city, this is for HOUSTON!

 

The band is currently wrapping up their support run with Sanguisugabogg, Despied Icon and Defeated Sanity.
