A year after its original PS5 release, LEGO Horizon Adventures headlines PS Plus Essential for December 2025. We found it to be a step below other LEGO titles of recent years, awarding it a 6/10 rating and concluding:

“On the one hand, this is a charming, kid-friendly take on Sony’s popular series that successfully translates the story, characters, and combat into the LEGO realm — and with real visual polish to boot. On the other, once the novelty wears off, level design feels vacant and repetitive, almost never engaging you with the sort of platforming or puzzle solving you might expect.”

Then there’s The Outlast Trials, which is a multiplayer take on the survival horror series. It’s a pretty good spin-off and has been updated constantly since launch, which was when we awarded it a 7/10 score: “It may not be the next single player terror fans of its predecessors are looking for, but The Outlast Trials successfully translates the series’ formula for a co-op setting. Hiding from gory psychopaths and utilising night vision is still the name of the game — now you simply do it alongside up to three friends online.”

Neon White, meanwhile, is a run-based platformer where you try to make your way to the finish line as quickly as possible, while clearing tasks. “The resulting game is slick, stylish, and modern, with its real strength being the compulsion to beat each level as fast as possible,” we said while awarding an 8/10.

Liam Croft

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he’s found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
