POMEROY, Ohio (WCHS) — A Meigs County, Ohio, man is accused of breaking into the Subway he was employed at and stealing money, police said.

Russell Robinson, 44, of Middleport, Ohio, is charged with breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence, according to a news release from the Pomeroy Police Department.

Officers said they were notified Wednesday morning of an apparent break-in at the Subway in the 800 block of West Main Street in Pomeroy when the employee showed up for work that day and noticed money was missing.

Robinson was identified as a suspect in the case “within a few hours” and showed evidence from the alleged crime that he’d discarded, police said. He was arrested Thursday morning.

The police department said Robinson was an employee of the Subway.
