Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds stepped out for a pre-Thanksgiving date night—and the actress’s look was a total Gossip Girl throwback.
In a selfie, which she shared on her Instagram Stories, Lively could be seen rocking a giant statement necklace that instantly takes me back to the OTT jewelry so often worn by her Y2K character, Serena van der Woodsen. The necklace was a multi-strand number featuring rows of bright red beads and it covered most of her chest.

“Puttin’ my night out hair to good use,” she wrote over the image, referring to another video she shared on Instagram of her hair routine for the look. In the video, Lively demonstrates her method for getting her loose, undefined waves, which she wore in a (very van der Woodsen) millennial side part.
She also rocked a navy corset top.

In the video, Lively’s date night look could be seen in more detail: she wore a navy velvet corseted dress with a slight skater skirt. All in all, this whole look is giving major flashbacks to that Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episode. IYKYK.

Lively has been keeping a low profile of late. Back in September, she made her first public appearance in months, appearing at Glossy’s Pop event in New York City, wearing a sheer mesh tank top. In October, she stepped out again wearing a red two-piece with a peplum and plenty of tiny cutouts.
