ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The staff at Mission Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) continued one of its favorite traditions on Thanksgiving Day, and that’s to make the day memorable for the infants in their care.

Along Preemies of the Carolinas donated Thanksgiving-themed outfits for the infants.

For many of these little ones, it’s their very first Thanksgiving, and our NICU team works lovingly to make the day memorable for families who are spending their holiday in the hospital, Mission Hospital said in a news release.

“Thank you to Along Preemies of the Carolinas, who generously donated the outfits, our incredible Mission Children’s WNC Family Support Network and nursery teams for helping dress our tiniest patients in festive Thanksgiving outfits and creating moments families will treasure forever,” the hospital said in the release.

The hospital also said in the release that the infants were monitored closely by the hospital’s skilled nursing team for their first baby celebrity photo shoot.
