Ontario Basketball adds Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA League to Youth Pathway
U14 pilot launches in the GTA (Jan–Apr 2026)

Ontario Basketball (OBA) is adding Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA League programming to its youth development pathway—creating more fun, welcoming entry points into organized basketball for kids across Ontario.

The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA League is a beginner-friendly, grassroots program for ages 6–14 that focuses on skill development, teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment of the game in an inclusive setting.

“Kids learn best when the game feels welcoming and fun,” said Claude Nembhard, CEO of Ontario Basketball. “Bringing the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA League to Ontario gives families a high-quality first step into organized basketball—focused on development, equal opportunity, and positive experiences.” “OBA will work with the NBA/WNBA and Canada Basketball to grow the game at the community level and inspire the next generation of players.”
