A recent report suggests that Tatiana Maslany‘s future as She-Hulk in the MCU could be in doubt.
Why is She-Hulk’s MCU future in doubt?
According to a new report from noted insider My Time to Shine, Marvel Studios is hoping to have She-Hulk appear “in a big way” in the Avengers: Doomsday sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. However, My Time to Shine notes that Maslany “has no interest” in working with Disney at this point.
Whether or not that will change is unknown, but the report noted that if they’re unable to convince her to return, the only options Disney will have are to recast the character or remove her altogether from their current slate.
While it’s unclear what Maslany’s issues with Disney specifically are, the actress has been outspoken against the company this year. In September, she joined a litany of actors who called for a boycott of services like Hulu and Disney+ after the Disney-owned ABC suspended Jimmy Fallon from his job for a week.
Maslany has also been outspoken in her support for Palestine, and has called for her fans to cancel their Disney+ subscription as the company remains on the “BDS list,” a list of products advocates advise to avoid due to their ties to Israel.
